If bananas are on a tree, it is a banana tree. Apple trees have apples. Christians -- people who have decided to let God be the boss of them -- should ‘look’ like they belong to God.

Does this mean that Christians need to wear certain clothes? No - people will know that we are Christians by seeing what we do.

Galatians 5:22-23 says “But the fruit of the Spirit

is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

It’s not easy to always show all of the fruits of the Spirit. For example, when you have to wait a long time, it’s hard to be patient. We might feel like fussing and getting mad.

When we become Christians, we have God’s Holy Spirit. God’s Holy Spirit gives us the strength and power to do difficult things like being kind when someone isn’t nice.

We all mess up sometimes, but when we make mistakes, we can ask God to forgive us and make a plan for how to do better next time.

God loves us. God knows that when His people show love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, everyone will see how good God is. God knows that having these things in our lives makes our lives better, too.

Galatians 5:22-23 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

The word “Spirit” is the Holy Spirit. When we become Christians, the Holy

Spirit of God becomes a part of us.

Little kids react. If they are mad, they hit, and they pitch fits when they don’t get their way.

Teens can control themselves better than babies, but no one can show all of the fruits of the Spirit in rotten situations without God.

It’s tempting to tell people off when they deserve it. People can be horrible sometimes. However, God knows what is best for us and for others. There are times when we must stand up for what is good and right, but with God’s power we can take our stand while still showing the fruits of the Spirit.

God knows that showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control requires strength - not weakness. When we show these characteristics while we are dealing with super-annoying folks, others will see God’s power. Since God’s plan is for our good, having these characteristics will also benefit us in the end.
